Hey Readers! Welcome back to Gastronomically Yours. We hope that you are doing good. Today we will talk about this fantastic casual dining restaurant we visited a week back called the G.T.Road, located in Connaught Place Delhi. Let us first tell you a bit about the Grand Trunk road itself which lends its name to the restaurant.
About the Journey
The GT Road is a 2600 km long historical road dating back to colonial times that extends from Kabul (or Peshawar depending on perspective) to Chittagong. As you might guess, this enormous this enormous length travels along various regions that are home to an exciting variety of cuisines and specialities. This restaurant aims to bring some of those specialities from across the length & breadth of this great motorway on their plates while sitting in the comfort of a restaurant located in one of its principal nodes. This was a brief history of The G. T. Road.
Our ExperiencesThe theme of this restaurant is enchanting to say the least, comprising visuals of ancient villages, trivia written as graffiti and a case full of antique crockery. The G.T Road has very spacious seating arrangements which include ground floor and 1st Floor. The staff is also very courteous and respectful.
Coming to the foodThis place is a haven for buffet lovers as we have already mentioned. Our food journey began with a complimentary drink which was a refreshing raw mango cooler. This was followed by a flurry of barbecued meats and fish that we grilled ourselves on our tables. The grilled starters in the eatery comprise of both vegetarian &nonnon-vegetarian delicacies but we only had a room for the meat. The must try items from starters are Namkeen Gosht, Lahori Macchi Tikka, Daab Chingri & Tandoori Chicken. They were astoundingly juicy and delicious. Don't miss their chaat section once you are done with the starters. Following that, you must try the Yakhni Shorba followed by the main course. The G T Road
