Vivekananda Rock Memorial
Kanyakumari is located on the southern tip of India. It is the confluence of Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.
Tourists throng this town because it is famous as a place of worship and for its serene beaches and spectacular views.
Accommodation :
There is a range of hotels to choose from, ranging from anywhere between Rs. 2000- 7000. Most of the hotels have free wifi and multi-cuisine restaurants.
Places to visit :
Our visit to Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the statue of great Tamil poet Saint Thiruvalluvar which is surrounded by the three seas was a memorable one. The only way to reach these two most important destinations in Kanyakumari is by Government run Jetties. Charges per person for this jetty is quite nominal. Both these places not only provides a traveller with a great photo opportunity but also marvel at the engineering excellence.
Food
Kanyakumari is famous for toothsome South Indian dishes We went to the  ‘Ocean View Restaurant ‘since we were told is the only ocean facing restaurant in the vicinity, i.e. East car street. While having food in a restaurant in Kanyakumari one most have ample time, since there is a relaxed way of serving  We opted for a mix of Chinese and North Indian food; Lemon coriander soup(Rs.90) and Tandoori veg platter(Rs.500).
Review of our food :
Lemon coriander soup–Â was quite good …just make sure that it stays hot and doesn’t get cold
Tandoori Veg Platter– cooked with lots of spices and masalas was quite delicious
We would suggest to our readers that next time when you are in Kanyakumari, do visit a nice restaurant like this. Sit down, relax, enjoy the food while watching the magical view.
