How to Reach Manali?

The mountain is well connected by road to various parts of Himachal Prades. Kalka Railway & Jogindernagar railway Station connects different parts of the country through broad gauge tracks.

By Road

The drive from  Delhi to Manali via Chandigarh about 620 km, almost takes half a day. Distance from Chandigarh to Manali is approximately 330kms. The best and most cost-effective way to reach Manali is by road.

By Air

The nearest airport is Bhuntar located at a distance of 10 km from Manali & is the doorway to this place. Tourists prefer a to fly, to cut down the travel time.

By Rail

Jogindernagar railway station is the closest railway junction to Manali that connects the hill station with various principal cities of the country. From the railway station, one can get a various mode of transportation including taxi and bus at affordable rates.

Best Places To Visit In Manali

Beas Kund

Trek to frozen Beas Kund, the source of Beas river is a must visit place in Manali.  The trek begins from Solang Valley well known for skiing & paragliding. The trails of Dhundi to BakarThach will make one cross multiple river streams. Surrounded by peaks like Hanuman Tibba, Friendship Peak, Shitidhar, and Seven Sisters. The summer trek is perfect for beginners for its easy trail and short duration. An incomplete Manali visit would be without travelling this place.

Rohtang Pass

Located at the height of 13051 ft and a distance of 51 km from Manali.  The pass is a doorway to Lahaul Spiti, Pangi & Leh. The perfect season to visit is from May to October. During May, Rohtang Pass becomes a hub of adventure activities. Most of the travellers go for several exciting activities such as snow skiing & mountain biking. Environment lovers enjoy excellent glimpses of glaciers, peak.

Solang Valley

Located  15 kilometers from Manali,  lies between Solang village and Beas Kund. It offers a stunning glimpse of glaciers and snowy peaks. A perfect place during winter, the valley becomes a hub of skiing. With kids of all ages sliding over the white  snow. For snow lovers, the best time to visit Solang Valley from December – February. Summer season observe various activities such as parachuting, zorbing, paragliding and horse riding. The area also has some trekking and camping options making it a favorite amongst adventurers and thrill seekers.

Hidimba Devi  Temple

Hidimba Devi  Temple also known as Hadimba temple , is a 400 year-old templd. Constructed in 1553 & also among the  best places to visit in Manali.The temple’s wooden entrance, under a three-tier pagoda-style roof,beautifully sculpted with figures of gods, animals and dancers.A perfect 20 mins trail from the mall road to the temple.

Naggar

Located in the east of  Kullu Valley & perhaps the most attractive village in the valley. It’s easily accessible from  Manali also has breathtaking views. There are some excellent guesthouses and restaurants; it’s a beautiful place for a few days’ relaxing stays.

Manikaran

With vapour continually arising from the Parvati river bank under its massive temple, the dynamic pilgrim city of Manikaran, 81 km from Manali is renowned for its hot water springs and is holy for everyone.   The water rising from the ground is scorching enough to boil rice. Locals say it is holy water that cures every disease.

Bhrigu Lake

Bhrigu Lake trek is a real gift to travellers & hikers as the lake at a great height.Accessible by trekking from the Vashishth temple or Gulaba village.Serene atmosphere at this lake attracts the tourists.The lake is sacred; Many tourists worship the lake with full devotion.

Bhrigu Lake or Brighu Lake is a lake located at an elevation of around 4,300 metres (14,100 ft) in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is located to the east of Rohtang Passand is around 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from Gulaba village. It can be reached by trekking either from the Vashishth temple, which is famous for its hot water springs, which is close to the town of Manali or from Gulaba village. Actually there is no settlement in Gulaba and is actually an area of the Pir Panjal mountain range. It is named after Maharishi Bhrigu.
