
Mount Abu Winter Festival being conducted every year at Mount Abu in some time around December pays respect to the strong culture and custom of Rajasthan. The event is a rare mixture of social vibrancy, remarkable craftsmanships and delightful food, set against a spectacular backdrop. This three-day extravaganza brings together artisans and entertainers from every corner of the state. Mt. Abu Winter Festival is also known for its sporting and recreation events, such as kite flying, rowing competitions and poetry recitation sessions. Also, it is the only carnival in Rajasthan where cricket included as a part of the ceremony. A grand parade marks the beginning of the festival. It completes at the Nakki Lake with the celebration in the twilight, where hundreds of diyas (earthen lamps) are set afloat in the lake as a form of honour. A marvellous display of fireworks ends the festival on an exciting note. The dates for 2017 are 29th December and 30th December. The Udaipur Airport is the closest and located 175 kilometres away, and the nearest railway station is Abu Road, located 41 km away.
