Murg Badami

Murg Badami is an authentic Punjabi recipe. As  the name suggests is a rich chicken curry made along with almonds. This goes best with Tandoori Roti or hot steamed rice. 

Ingredients- Murg Badami

  1. Fresh Chicken(Curry Cut) – One Kilogram 
  2. Curd- Two Cups 
  3. Turmeric- One  Tablespoon 
  4. Red Chili Powder- One  Tablespoon 
  5. Salt- As per your requirement 
  6. Ginger Garlic Paste- One  Tablespoon 
  7. Almond Paste- Half Cup 
  8. Dried Red Chilies- Four  Pieces 
  9. Coriander and Green Chili Paste- One Tablespoon 
  10. Milk / Cream/Malai – Half Cup 
  11. Onions(Sliced)- Five  Pieces 
  12. Coriander Seed Powder- One Tablespoon
  13. Cumin Seed Powder- One Tablespoon 
  14. Ghee- Two  Tablespoon
  15. Oil- As per your requirement
  16. Cumin Seed – One Tablespoon 
  17. Kasturi Methi- For Garnishing

How To Prepare Murg Badami

  1. Take chicken in a large bowl, and add garlic paste, ginger paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander seed powder, cumin seed powder, almond paste, beaten curd, salt, oil over the chicken massage it well  and keep aside for two hours.
  2. Add ghee and oil in a pan and heat it on a high flame.  
  3. Next, add onions and fry till the color is golden brownish. 
  4. Now add the dried red chilies and saute for two minutes. 
  5. Post that, add the marinated chicken and mix it well. 
  6. Now add coriander green chili paste and cumin seeds. 
  7. Next, cook the chicken on a low flame till the chicken is completely done. 
  8. Once Done, Garnish with Kastrui Methi. 
  9. Serve hot with steamed rice or Tandoori Roti.
